Pumpkin Spice Creamer Recipe

This pumpkin spice creamer recipe uses real pumpkin puree, toasted spices, and maple syrup no artificial flavoring, no preservatives. Toasting the pumpkin pie spice for under a minute before adding the cream is the one step that makes it taste like real fall instead of an afterthought. Ready in 10 minutes, it keeps in the fridge for about a week and works in both hot and iced coffee. A little goes further than store-bought versions, so start light and adjust to taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup half-and-half (or milk of choice)
  • cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Equipment

  • 1 small saucepan
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 Fine mesh strainer
  • 1 glass jar or bottle with a lid

Method

  1. In a small, dry saucepan over medium heat, toast the pumpkin pie spice for about 30–45 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  2. Whisk in the half-and-half, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, and salt until smooth.
  3. Bring to a gentle simmer, whisking occasionally, and cook for 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened and steaming. Do not let it boil.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a glass jar for the smoothest texture.
  6. Let cool slightly, then refrigerate. Shake or stir well before each use.

Notes

  • Toasting the spices first is the key step — it deepens the flavor significantly compared to adding them cold.
  • For a dairy-free version, swap in full-fat coconut milk or barista-blend oat milk.
  • The pumpkin will naturally settle between uses — always shake before pouring.
