Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 cup warm water or brewed tea
  • a squeeze of lemon juice or a splash of unsweetened cranberry juice (optional, for flavor)

Equipment

  • 1 small saucepan to warm water
  • 1 spoon to dissolve gelatin
  • 1 drinking glass

Method

  1. Step 1: Warm your water or tea until it's hot but not boiling.
  2. Step 2: Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the top and whisk immediately until fully dissolved, with no lumps remaining.
  3. Step 3: Stir in the lemon juice or cranberry juice, if using.
  4. Step 4: Drink it 15 to 30 minutes before your next meal, while it's still warm.

Notes

This works best on an empty stomach, taken 15 to 30 minutes before eating. The fullness only lasts around 30 minutes, so time it close to your meal rather than hours ahead. Don't use flavored gelatin packets — they contain added sugar that works against the purpose. This is a small pre-meal habit, not a meal replacement, and it shouldn't be relied on instead of eating.
