Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we get most often about Recipe Valley, our recipes, and how we work.
About Recipe Valley
What is Recipe Valley?
Recipe Valley is a recipe and home-cooking site focused on tested, easy-to-follow recipes — from everyday desserts and weeknight dinners to weight-loss-friendly favorites. Every recipe is meant to work in a normal kitchen with normal grocery-store ingredients.
Who writes the recipes?
Jonas Mitchell is the home baker and recipe developer behind Recipe Valley. Jonas does not hold a clinical nutrition credential — recipes and articles are researched and kitchen-tested, not reviewed by a licensed health professional before publishing. See our Medical & Health Disclaimer for more on how we handle health-adjacent content.
Recipes & Cooking
Are your recipes beginner-friendly?
Yes. Recipes are written for home cooks, not professional chefs — clear steps, realistic ingredient lists, and honest timing. If a step is tricky, we call it out ahead of time instead of letting you find out mid-recipe.
Can I adjust the serving size?
Most recipes scale up or down fine by multiplying the ingredients proportionally. For baking specifically, stick closely to the original quantities since ratios matter more than they do in savory cooking.
A recipe didn’t turn out the way I expected — what should I do?
Let us know at contactrecipevally@gmail.com with what happened and which recipe. Every recipe is tested before publishing, but kitchens, ovens, and ingredients vary, and we’d rather fix a genuine issue than have it sit t@iamguestpostsellergmail-com## Ingredients & Substitutions
Can I substitute ingredients if I don’t have everything?
Often, yes — we note common substitutions in the recipe when there’s a reliable swap. If you’re unsure whether a substitution will work for a specific recipe, leave a comment on the post or email contactrecipevally@gmail.com.
Where does the nutrition information come from?
Nutrition figures on recipe cards are estimates calculated from standard ingredient databases. They’ll vary depending on the exact brands and quantities you use, and they aren’t a substitute for medical-grade nutrition tracking.
Weight-Loss & Health Content
Are the weight-loss recipes medically reviewed?
No. Nothing in the Weight Loss Recipes category is medical advice, dietetic counseling, or a substitute for care from a licensed doctor or registered dietitian. Full details are in our Medical & Health Disclaimer.
Can I follow these recipes if I have a health condition?
Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian first, especially if you have a diagnosed condition, are pregnant or nursing, take prescription medication, or have a history of disordered eating. Recipes and habits described as “low-risk” on this site are general statements for typical healthy adults, not a personal medical assessment.
Using Our Content
Can I share or repost your recipes?
You’re welcome to link to a recipe and use one photo with credit and a link back to the original post. Please don’t republish the full recipe text or multiple photos without asking first.
Can I print a recipe for my own use?
Yes — every recipe card has a Print Recipe button. Printing for your own kitchen or to share with friends and family offline is fine; please don’t upload our recipes to other sites or apps.
I found your content copied somewhere else — what should I do?
Please let us know at contactrecipevally@gmail.com with a link to where you saw it. We appreciate the heads-up.
